July 9, 2017 – AB 1321 has been stripped of a key provision. The provision would have called for school districts to detail how funding from California new’s education finance law (Local Control Funding Formula) was being spent. Specifically, the bill “would have required that districts list how much money each school received from the formula, including a breakdown of the money that the targeted student groups generated for the district.” The article, written by John Fensterwald of EdSource, mentions Public Advocates’ reports on the implementation of the law.
