May 25, 2017 – In a a report by Kyle Stokes of KPCC, a major deal was announced between two state power players–the California Teachers Union and the California Charter Schools Association. The deal updates enrollment and disciplinary policies at charter schools. This is a direct response to a 2016 Public Advocates and ACLU report that found discriminatory admissions policies in one-fifth of the state’s 1,200 charter schools.
