EdSource reports on the California Department of Education’s (CDE) determination that Los Angeles Unified School District misallocated millions of dollars in funds that are supposed to be spent on low-income students, English language learners and foster youth. Public Advocates filed a complaint with the CDE on behalf of parents, students and community groups about use of the funds under the state’s education finance reform law.
